Concept Art/illustrations
£120 ($200 US) per day. A character concept can probably be done in a day whereas an environment illustration can easily take 4 or 5 days, after revisions.
50% payment upfront, after thumbnail choice or initial sketch has been agreed.
Once the concept or illustration is complete I will send you a small image.
Remaining 50% to be paid before I send the full-size image.
You then have 7 days for up to 4 minor alterations (at no cost).
Any major alterations will be charged at a full concept or illustration fee as these changes can be extremely lengthy.
If you require a concept or illustration, take a look through my images. At the bottom of the description there is a cost estimate. The images that were done for clients took longer, due to the fact that there are the expected revisions. Obviously a personal project can often be done much quicker as there would naturally be no revisions.
Please be specific about your ideas. To avoid revisions please take time to list all the necessary elements that are required for the composition. Don't be vague. Know what you want and keep to it. Throwing ideas around and experimenting will delay the progress and I will have to charge hourly rates on top, which should be unnecessary
Concept art is usually very loose - not as polished as the art you see in a lot of port folios containing personal projects. However, tighter levels of detail can be achieved if you are wiling to pay for further work on the image i.e. an extra day or two. As far as concept art goes, this is usually unnecessary. Concept art is all about a design i.e. for film or video games. It isn't the kind of art that is framed and hung on a wall or used for promotional purposes. If you require a more complete image (background/mood/lighting etc) then it is an illustration that you need. Ultimately this takes longer than concept art due to the tighter levels of detail.
